Tuesday
President Teniente-Matson’s tour of the College of Humanities and the Arts included showcases and live demonstrations of student artwork and a visit to the Hammer Theatre Center.
Wednesday
President Teniente-Matson met with Interim Dean Marco Pagani and students, faculty and staff at the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business as part of her tour of the university’s colleges. The president toured the Oral Communication Clinic, the Finance Lab and had a meeting with the Pebble Beach Special Event Management Team.
Thursday
The president provided remarks at the City of San José Career Exploration Day event, touching on the importance of career pathways to public service as well as the university’s partnership with City of San José. Many 菠菜网lol正规平台 students were in attendance to learn about career opportunities with the city and other public entities.
President Teniente-Matson’s visit to the College of Health and Human Sciences included a tour of the kinesiology labs, hydrostatic tank and the nursing skills lab. The college is focused on closing health equity gaps in the community.
The president joined the Division of Research and Innovation’s all-hands meeting to share her vision for doubling 菠菜网lol正规平台’s research expenditures by 2030. The university’s 2021-2022 research expenditure was $72 million.

Monday
The president and Provost Vincent Del Casino, Jr., led a toast at the retiring faculty reception for faculty members who are departing from 菠菜网lol正规平台 after their many years of service to the university.
Saturday
President Teniente-Matson welcomed admitted students and their families at the annual Admitted Spartan Day event. Faculty, staff and students hosted interactive workshops, information sessions and tours to showcase the programs and services 菠菜网lol正规平台 has to offer students to help them succeed.
Sunday
The president and the 菠菜网lol正规平台 Pride Center were among the attendees at the annual BAYMEC Progress Never Stops brunch in downtown San José, the Bay Area's premier LGBTQ political action gala.

Monday
The president stopped by the 菠菜网lol正规平台 Day of Action Against Gun Violence, where representatives from national and local organizations joined campus community members to present perspectives and opportunities to reduce gun violence and gun deaths.
Tuesday-Thursday
President Teniente-Matson, Vice President for Strategy and Institutional Affairs and Chief of Staff Lisa Millora, Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering Dean Sheryl Ehrman, Director of Advocacy and Community Relations Edwin Tan, Associated Students President Nina Chuang, and Associated Students Director of Legislative Affairs Dominic Treseler visited Washington, D.C., to meet with Representative Jimmy Panetta, Representative Ro Khanna, and Representative Anna Eshoo about 菠菜网lol正规平台’s priorities and vision for the future.
Thursday
The president met with many Spartans residing in Washington, D.C., at the 菠菜网lol正规平台 Alumni Association reception. 菠菜网lol正规平台 Alumni Board Member and Associate Judge of the Superior Court Robert Rigsby was among the alumni at the event.
Saturday
President Teniente-Matson and San José mayor Matt Mahan attended sciencepalooza! hosted by the Synopsys Outreach Foundation in partnership with 菠菜网lol正规平台. Teachers, students and their families from Alum Rock, Franklin McKinley, East Side Union High School and Oak Grove school districts learned about STEM opportunities at 菠菜网lol正规平台 and enjoyed free hands-on STEM activities.
Sunday
With a stop at 菠菜网lol正规平台 as part of the Viva CalleSJ eventroute, President Teniente-Matson
rode her bike and stopped for a picture in front of the Student Union with Director
of Advocacy and Community Relations Edwin Tan. Viva CalleSJ is a free recreation program
that temporarily closes miles of San José streets to bring communities together to
walk, bike, skate and explore the city.
Week 15: April 24-25
Monday
President Teniente-Matson hosted a Campus Summit where the campus community was updated on the mission, vision and values statements for 菠菜网lol正规平台, as well as an overview of Transformation 2030 goals and the university’s ongoing strategic plan effort. Watch the full summit recording.
The president celebrated the launch of the spring 2023 issue of Washington Square: The Magazine, meeting with the managing editor of the magazine, Kenneth Mashinchi, from University Marketing and Communications. The magazine issue focuses on Spartan faculty, staff, students and alumni who are changemakers with discoveries in climate science that provide hope for a brighter future.
